There aren’t five offensive guards in the NFL who are better players than Philadelphia Eagles star Landon Dickerson. Sure, some guys are just as good, but you’d be hard-pressed to find five guys or more who are better.
The proof is in the results. He has been voted onto the Pro Bowl roster in three of his first four seasons. He’s enjoyed success at the mountaintop thanks to a Super Bowl win. Two weeks before that, he enjoyed his Iron Man moment in the NFC Championship Game.

Subbing for an injured Cam Jurgens, Dickerson, while injured himself, anchored the Eagles’ offensive line until his body couldn’t endure any more punishment. Then, Jrgens, still injured, subbed back in. It was a superhuman effort by two great young Philadelphia Eagles.
Injuries have been a big part of the story as the Eagles have begun their campaign with a 4-0 record. He endured meniscus surgery during training camp and returned to the practice field as a guest one day later to share some brews with some Cleveland Browns offensive linemen.
As we turned the page from August to September, we learned of another concern, a back injury. He played in Week 1 vs. the Dallas Cowboys but was unable to play every snap. He’s played 96% of the offensive snaps this season, but he hasn’t looked like Landon Dickerson.
In Week 4 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he earned a pass-blocking grade of 40.5. That’s his second-lowest score of the season after notching grades on 39.9, 56.1, and 47.5 in Weeks 1-3, respectively. Though his run-block grade improved in Week 4 (up to 71.9 after a 48.0 score one week prior), it seems like it’s time to ask questions. Is Landon Dickerson more injured than the Eagles are letting on?

These past two weeks, he has allowed three sacks, five hurries, and eight pressures on 128 pass-blocking snaps. Everyone knows he’s a warrior, but he’s also one of the best players along the Eagles’ offensive front. Next up on the Eagles’ schedule is a home date with the Denver Broncos. A stout defense will again test Philadelphia’s offense, and if Dickerson is hurt, it won’t take long to find out.
