WASHINGTON (7News) — Commanders fans are scratching their heads, trying to figure out what kind of performance that was against the Falcons on Sunday.

Washington is now 2-2 on the season. That’s not too bad considering Jayden Daniels hasn’t played the last two games.

This week, the Commanders have another road trip, all the way to the West Coast to battle the L.A. Chargers.

On Monday, head coach Dan Quinn talked with reporters about the struggles with the Washington defense.

“It’s a combination of things. We want to clean them up as quickly as we can. On some, it was as simple as a switch of a receiver of two or three,” Quinn said. “It certainly helps as a pass rush when we’re really ripping in that space. Also, communication… We will work really hard to nail that. We have to and we’ll get better at that for sure.”

Overall, it was Washington’s worst defensive showing since the Ravens game last season.

Things will need to be corrected in a hurry. On Sunday, quarterback Justin Herbert and the Chargers await.
