Viewers tuning in to ESPN for Monday Night Football might be confused to see the Miami Dolphins hosting the New York Jets with a very different looking uniform.

The dark, navy blue Dolphins jerseys aren’t a full-time swap for the team and viewers won’t see them again any time soon. Miami’s alternate jerseys are making their debut in the Week 4 game and won’t make another appearance until at least the 2026 season.

During the 2025 NFL draft, the league announced a partnership with Nike to create “Rivalries” uniforms with an alternate look on the way for all 32 teams. That begins in 2025 with reimagined duds for the teams in the AFC East and NFC West. A few days ago, the Arizona Cardinals became the first team to wear a “Rivalries” uniform when they hosted the Seattle Seahawks in prime-time.

Only home teams will wear the Rivalries uniforms with the Jets set to debut theirs when they rematch the Dolphins at MetLife Stadium later this year in December.
