The Tennessee Titans’ season is not going the way the franchise had planned when it selected quarterback Cam Ward first overall in the 2025 NFL draft. Ward has struggled in the first four games of his career, as evidenced by some particularly concerning statistics.
“Cam Ward is off to one of the WORST statistical starts a rookie QB has ever seen. Among all QB’s who have played at least 4 games this season, Ward is last in almost EVERY significant statistical category.
“• 51.2% completion percentage (last) • 614 passing yards (2nd last) • 2 passing TD’s (last) • 17 sacks taken (last) • 23.0 QBR (last) • 63.9 passer rating (2nd last) • 4 losses (last),” one Twitter account noted.”
Ward’s struggles have manifested themselves in the Titans’ record, with Tennessee sitting at 0-4. The losing is taking its toll on everyone in the locker room, including head coach Brian Callahan.
“Do you think this is a resilient and relentless football team?” Titans reported Paul Kuharsky asked Callahan after the game.
“I know what you’re doing there, Paul,” Callahan responded, according to Awful Announcing. “I know what you’re doing. And I’m not gonna answer that sh*t right now.”
“I’m just gonna compose myself before I say something I’d regret,” Callahan went on. “But yes, I think this team is resilient. I think it is relentless. We haven’t played good enough football, and I think those are two very different things.”
Hopefully, Callahan is able to keep his head and get the train back on the tracks.
