After the Bengals lost Joe Burrow, they kept hope alive by pulling out a win against the Jaguars to improve to 2-0.
However, after that, the Bengals faced their toughest stretch of their schedule, and two games into it, hope was quickly dwindling. The Bengals were destroyed by the Vikings after looking decent early on following a string of turnovers. That resulted in the Bengals having their worst loss in franchise history.
In the second week post-Burrow, the Bengals faced a Broncos team off to a 1-2 start, likely their most winnable game of the three-game stretch. It became clear early on that the Bengals were outmatched, eventually going into halftime down 18. The defense improved in the second half, but the offense got nothing going all game, resulting in the defense being run ragged all game and eventually giving up another touchdown late in the fourth, essentially signaling the end of the game.
Now, the Bengals are 2-2, but still have two tough games coming up against the Lions and the Packers, which could easily drop them to 2-4. At which point the team would be facing a long-shot chance to still be in contention by the time Burrow recovers if he does this season. The team needs to make drastic changes if they don’t want this to be a completely wasted season, whether that is trading for a QB or something else is unclear.
With all that said, let’s take a look at the Twitter reactions to the Bengals’ loss to the Broncos.
