The Los Angeles Chargers got off to a hot 3-0 start in the NFL season. However, Week 4 was not the best week for Jim Harbaugh’s squad.
The Chargers would lose to the New York Giants in rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart’s first start with New York. Unfortunately for the Chargers, that wouldn’t be the only loss the team suffered this past Sunday.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport has reported that Chargers starting tackle Joe Alt suffered a high ankle sprain and is expected to be out for a few weeks.

This news comes as a huge blow to the franchise. Just before the start of the regular season, the Chargers lost starting left tackle Rashawn Slater with a season-ending knee injury. Slater’s injury occurred shortly after signing a massive extension with the franchise.

Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt (76), quarterback Justin Herbert (10), guard Jamaree Salyer (68), fullback Scott Matlock (44), center Bradley Bozeman (75), guard Zion Johnson (77), and offensive tackle Rashawn Slater (70) during and NFL game against the Tennessee Titans at SoFi Stadium. In a year where a lot of pressure is riding on Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, the team loses both starting tackles for extended periods.

Alt was Harbaugh’s first NFL Draft selection in Los Angeles. So, it’s easy to understand that the franchise sees the injured left tackle as a pillar for the franchise.
Now, the Chargers will have to game plan for the Washington Commanders without another starting offensive lineman. That has to be the worst statement to hear if you’re Herbert.
