Any Philadelphia Eagles fan familiar with the Dallas Cowboys’ history will undoubtedly understand the following statements. They’re obnoxious during success. They disappear when trouble arises (if they don’t defect to other teams). Then, there are the opinions. A Cowboys fan can sometimes allow what they hope to be true to become their reality.

Some call that delusion. We won’t. We’ll go another route. It can be hard to reason with a Cowboys fan about the Dallas Cowboys. Then, there’s Michael Irvin. Well… Michael Irvin is another animal and an entire case study.

Michael Irvin says A.J. Brown would prefer playing with Dak Prescott over Jalen Hurts.

Don’t adjust your monitors. There’s no need to reset your cell phones or tablets. This isn’t a drill. You’ve read the headline correctly. Michael Irvin is back on his ‘Dak Prescott is better than Jalen Hurts’ take.

Never mind the fact that Hurts hasn’t lost a game he has started and finished in a calendar year. Never mind the fact that Jalen Hurts has played in two Super Bowls and won one of them, while Prescott has yet to lead Dallas to an NFC Championship Game.

Irvin is throwing blows below the belt. Perhaps you have heard. A.J. Brown is tweeting again, and on the heels of that, Irvin appeared on ESPN’s First Take and offered the wildest of claims. A.J. Brown would be happier playing alongside Dak Prescott.

“People get up and say, ‘I’d take Jalen Hurts over Dak Prescott’, but now we see I don’t think his own wide receiver would take him over Dak Prescott. That’s what A.J. Brown is saying right here… The one game that they don’t win, and they don’t throw him the ball… Now, you have a problem that will spill over…

Oh, don’t worry. It gets better

“I don’t condone that he’s this upset and undefeated. I want you to quietly complain when you’re undefeated… But, we can’t skirt what he is saying… ‘Michael, how can you say (he’d take) Dak Prescott over Jalen Hurts? How can I?? His own damn receiver is saying it. I just want you to hear what he was saying.”

Last season, Brandon Graham implied Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown’s relationship may be strained. The truth is that no one knows if that is true except for Hurts and A.J. Brown, but it’s clear that the latter is upset. Ask yourselves a question. What great wide receivers don’t want the ball?

It may be true that Hurts is more conservative, and Prescott’s gunslinger mentality might fuel his desire to target Brown more often than Hurts does. We’d like to believe, however, that Brown is happy and wants to stay in Philadelphia until he says otherwise.
