Video: Kirk Ferentz says talks Iowa football’s 20-15 loss to Indiana

Head coach Kirk Ferentz meets with media following Iowa football’s 20-15 loss to Indiana.

Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books, and several former Iowa football players had huge hands in their teams’ performances.

The collection of former Hawkeyes in the NFL continues to grow, with several more being added to rosters this year after many were active last season. While high-end names like Sam LaPorta, Cooper DeJean, George Kittle and Tristan Wirfs dominate the alumni list, several other names Iowa fans will recognize are making significant impacts at the pro level too.

With that, here are three ex-Hawkeyes who stood out in Week 4 of the NFL season.

Jack Campbell, Detroit Lions LB

Everyone on the Lions found success in Detroit’s dominant 34-10 win over the Cleveland Browns. Campbell was at the front of that line.

The former Iowa linebacker finished with a team-high 11 tackles — seven solo — and one TFL in the win. Campbell has already piled 37 tackles through four games. He’s anchoring a defense that has a chance to be elite just about every week.

Geno Stone, Cincinnati Bengals S

Not much went the Bengals’ way in their 28-3 loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, yet Stone still managed to produce a decent stat line.

The former Iowa defensive back racked up a team-high 10 tackles — four solo — in the loss. With Joe Burrow still out and the Cincinnati offense sputtering, it could be a long season for Stone and the Bengals.

Cooper DeJean, Philadelphia Eagles CB

It was a whirlwind day for the Eagles, which raced out to a big lead before needing to hold on late in their 31-25 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. DeJean delivered a nice showing in the win.

The former Iowa defensive back had a team-high nine tackles — eight solo — and two passes defended. DeJean has piled up at least five tackles in every game this season. He’s off and running in his second NFL campaign.
