The Carolina Panthers have just been poached for the second time this season.

According to Reign Sports, the Houston Texans are signing offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston from the Panthers’ practice squad. The 25-year-old guard will now become a member of Houston’s active roster.

After splitting his collegiate career between Washington State (2018 to 2022) and Southern California (2023), Kingston was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft. The Niners would eventually waive Kingston later that summer while getting down to their initial 53-man roster.

Kingston was then claimed off waivers by the Panthers a day after his departure from San Francisco. He appeared in seven games for Carolina in 2024, with 24 of his 25 snaps coming on special teams.

This marks the second instance in 2025 that a member of the team’s practice squad has been signed to another active roster. Defensive lineman Sam Roberts had signed with the Atlanta Falcons back on Sept. 6.
