The Buffalo Bills avoided the upset, surviving a scare to defeat the New Orleans Saints 31-19 in Week 4.

The Bills improved to a perfect 4-0, joining the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles as the lone remaining undefeated teams.

The Bills limited the Saints (0-4) offense to 298 yards of offense and forced a turnover. Meanwhile, Buffalo’s offense kept an ongoing streak alive, scoring 30-plus points for the fourth consecutive contest to begin the 2025 campaign.

Here’s what we learned from the Bills’ victory over the Saints:

Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t put forth his best performance. He completed 16-of-22 passing attempts for 209 yards, two touchdowns, and his first interception of the campaign. Allen still accounted for three total touchdowns and his ability to extend the pocket was an asset throughout the second half. It wasn’t a vintage or even memorable performance, but it willed the Bills to victory.

Veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White played 100% of defensive snaps in Week 3. That wasn’t the case versus the Saints. Rookie cornerback Dorian Strong earned 15 snaps, eating into White’s workload. Strong could continue earning playing time until first-round cornerback Maxwell Hairston is ready.

The Bills didn’t win the turnover battle on Sunday, with Allen and Spencer Rattler throwing one interception apiece. The Bills had previously won turnover battles earlier this campaign, so their ability to pull out the victory despite that was encouraging. The Bills remain +3 in the turnover department, tied for fifth-best in the NFL.

Dalton Kincaid and Khalil Shakir scored touchdowns for a second consecutive game. In total, four different Bills receivers have caught touchdowns this year, including Keon Coleman and Jackson Hawes. Allen is spreading the ball around, but Kincaid and Shakir are emerging as his go-to preferred options in 2025.
