After being nominated for FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week, Ashton Jeanty got another nod for his Week 4 showing against the Chicago Bears.
The running back is nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. This past Sunday in Allegiant Stadium, he collected 155 scrimmage yards (138 rushing, 17 receiving) and three touchdowns (one rushing, two receiving). He became the third Raiders rookie running back to have 3+ scrimmage touchdowns in a single game, joining Bo Jackson in 1987 and Marcus Allen in 1982.
“Ashton had a great day,” quarterback Geno Smith said postgame. “He’s a great player. He’s the guy who we’ve always seen. … But the reality is that you got to stay within yourself and play your game. For him, he’s only going to get better.”
The other nominees for the Rookie of the Week award are Jaxson Dart (New York Giants), Omarion Hampton (Los Angeles Chargers), Woody Marks (Houston Texans), Emeka Egbuka (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and RJ Harvey (Denver Broncos).
