CHARLOTTE — The Panthers released outside linebacker DJ Johnson on Tuesday, as part of a pair of moves.

Johnson, a former third-round pick, started last week’s game against the Patriots when outside linebackers Patrick Jones II and D.J. Wonnum were inactive.

The Panthers also waived-injured rookie wide receiver Dalevon Campbell, who left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury and did not return.

The moves leave the Panthers with a pair of open spots on the 53-man roster.
