Pittsburgh Steelers TE Darnell Washington is a man of many talents on the football field — but if you asked OL Spencer Anderson, he’s best suited for the offensive line.

During the first media availability of the Steelers‘ Week 5 bye, Anderson shared with reporters a hilarious exchange between himself and Washington — joking that the massive tight end should switch to the offensive line.

“[Washington] was joking, he said, ‘You might need to come to individuals with the tight ends,'” Anderson told reporters. “And I’m like, ‘No, you just need to come with us.’ Because he’s essentially one of us.”

Both Anderson and Washington played massive roles in the Steelers’ efficient run game vs. the Minnesota Vikings — which accounted for 131 rushing yards in their Week 4 win.

There’s no doubt Washington is one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL. While he’s also dynamic with the ball in his hands, some fans have clamored for the huge tight end to switch to offensive tackle — and it appears Anderson shares this mindset based on his exchange with the former 2023 third-rounder.
