Pittsburgh Steelers WR Ben Skowronek is exactly the type of throwback wide receiver that the Steel City brand of football needs on offense — and if fans didn’t know before, he’s surely made some believers with his most recent comments.

On Tuesday, Skowronek shared what truly separates him from the rest of the NFL’s wide receivers. It isn’t a 1,000-yard season or catching multiple touchdowns in a game — it’s the selfless desire to help his team win football games.

“I don’t think I’m like any other receiver in the league. I truly don’t care how many catches I have — I’ll still be happy if we win,” Skowronek told reporters. “I want to be in the game on offense because I know what I can bring. But I feel like there are a lot more ways to affect the game than just catching balls.”

Skowronek shared that he wants to be the enforcer for Pittsburgh, naming the run game and special teams as two areas he prides himself in.

It’s clearly this team-first mentality that earned him a larger Week 4 workload vs. the Minnesota Vikings — 18 snaps on offense, the most of his first four games in 2025.
