DETROIT
Week 4 result: Detroit 34, Cleveland 10
Offensive rank: 6th (365.0)
Defensive rank: 11th (293.0)
Key stat: Lions quarterback Jared Goff has a 113.0 passer rating through Detroit’s first four games. He’s thrown for 929 yards with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Only Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson (130.5) has a higher rating than Goff this season.
Quotable: “I thought our defense set the tone for the day, those three takeaways, Leaf (Kalif Raymond) on the punt return. And offensively we were able to turn those three takeaways into 17 points, which was huge,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after the win Sunday.
“Look, in the grand scheme of things, coming off of a big win on Monday night, short week, come out, find a way to close that out and play really good defense. I was proud of the guys for that.”
Twentyman: The Lions are rolling after their third straight victory and what Lions fans should be most excited about is they are getting contributions from all three phases. The Lions lead the league in sacks (14), they are second in sacks allowed (3), and they have one of the better return and cover units on special teams. A team that can win three different ways on any given Sunday is a very dangerous team.
