Yo the Bengals need to give me a tryout. I’ll go out there rite now and play better than they safeties 😂😂. Rite now! No camp.

They always say never to kick a man while he’s down. But in this case, perhaps it’s best not to kick a team while they are down, either. The Cincinnati Bengals have already lost their franchise quarterback, Joe Burrow, for the majority of the season due to a toe injury. So, without Burrow, it shouldn’t surprise you if the team seems a bit lost.

In a 28-3 loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday night, Cincinnati’s defense allowed 512 yards to Denver’s offense. While the team seems to be getting its bearings together, former Broncos safety and Super Bowl champion T.J. Ward gave a humorous, yet scathing, critique of the Bengals’ safeties and their play.

The three-time Pro Bowler hasn’t played in the NFL since 2020 when he had a brief practice squad stint with the Arizona Cardinals, and he was out of the league for two years before that. So if he did decide to play for the Bengals, he would be a bit rusty. However, his criticism seems to be valid. The defense allowing 28 points and over 500 yards of total offense will definitely spark some conversations between Bengals head coach Zac Taylor and his defensive staff. Where did they go from here? Who knows. Nevertheless, Ward isn’t too far off. The Broncos improved to 2-2 and have to face the defending champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, in Week 5.
