The Tennessee Titans are coming off another disappointing outing where they were blanked by the Houston Texans in Week 4 action. Unfortunately, none of the changes made leading up to the game made a difference, and the Titans were embarrassed by their division rivals.Â
This week, the Titans will travel west in search of their first victory of 2025 when they take on the Arizona Cardinals (2-2) in Week 5 in what has become a critical game on Tennessee’s schedule. The Cardinals are coming off a disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football and will be well rested.Â
With the Titans traveling to Glendale this week, we here at Titans Wire will again have an opportunity to scour the Cardinals’ roster in search of hypothetical depth and/or talent upgrades.
The Titans have appeared to regress over the first four weeks of the season and are struggling on the offensive side of the ball. While there have been some highlights with some of their young players, for the most part, their performances have been inconsistent, especially in the second half of ball games, where they wear down and collapse in the face of adversity.Â
After a hot start, the Cardinals are coming in on the heels of two last-second defeats and will also be looking to get back on track. They have a solid mix of talent that could immediately help the Titans in areas that could give the team a boost. There are plenty of players to choose from.Â
Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., veteran defensive tackle Calais Campbell, and cornerback Will Johnson are talented playmakers who would be upgrades at their positions. And while all of those could help in different ways and be potential targets, one player outshines all of them: Defensive end Josh Sweat.Â
The Titans lack a consistent presence on the edge and have struggled to generate any type of pressure from that unit in 2025, even with defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons playing at a high level. Sweat could easily step in and add a force to their front seven, and celebrate a family reunion.Â
The Cardinals signed Sweat as an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, and he has not disappointed. After being a part of Philadelphia’s elite pass-rush unit, he has transitioned into the Cardinals’ front and made an impact. Through four games, he has made eight total tackles (six solo) with 3.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Sweat would be an explosive and productive edge player who fits the mold of what Tennessee desires at the position and can make an impact on every play. Additionally, being the older brother of defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat would be an added benefit that could potentially give the unit a boost inside the locker room.Â
What are your thoughts, Titans fans? Would you pick Josh Sweat or steal an entirely different player from the Arizona Cardinals? Sound off and let us know.Â
