Jeremy Cluff writes: “This game could easily go either way, but we’re leaning toward the Chargers bouncing back at home with a big performance from Justin Herbert, even if Jayden Daniels returns for the Commanders.”

Bookies.com: Bert the Chargers to cover vs Commanders

Bill Speros writes: “The FOX national game offers a major test for Marcus Mariotta/Jayden Daniels and the otherwise aging-fast Commanders (the league’s oldest team) at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers’ jet lag showed in their loss to Big Blue at MetLife. This is a week-to-week league for about 20 teams. Their high-voltage defense and rebalanced offense win the day in front of a maroon-clad crowd of displaced Commanders fans.”

The site’s formula predicts that the Chargers will win the NFL Week 5 game against the Commanders.

ESPN: Chargers have a 59.5% chance to beat Commanders on Sunday

The site gives the Commanders a 40.2% shot at winning the NFL Week 5 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.

Dimers: Chargers 25, Commanders 23

It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Commanders a win probability of 45%, while the Chargers have a win probability of 55%.”

Sportsnaut: Commanders 23, Chargers 20

Matt Johnson writes: “The expectation here is that Jayden Daniels returns in Week 5, flipping this matchup in the Washington Commanders’ favor. That has a lot to do with the fact that, without its two offensive tackles, the Los Angeles Chargers are allowing Justin Herbert to be pressured on more than 50 percent of his dropbacks. Washington (3.6 yards per carry allowed) can bottle up Omarion Hampton, and with Dan Quinn able to generate pressure without blitzing because of the Chargers’ tackle situation, the Commanders will return home from Los Angeles with a 3-2 record.”
