The Arizona State Sun Devils and Kansas Jayhawks will meet for an American-style football game in London’s Wembley Stadium next season, the Big 12 announced Wednesday.
The Sept. 19, 2026, game in Week 3 of the season will designate ASU as the away team.
Called the Union Jack Classic, it would be the first FBS college football game played in London.
Tickets will go on presale this coming Monday, Oct. 6, with general sales opening on Thursday, Oct. 9, via SunDevils.com and UnionJackClassic.com.
“The Big 12 is leading the charge to take college football global, and we’re proud to be part of it,” Arizona State athletic director Graham Rossini said in a release. “College sports are about providing our student-athletes with life-changing experiences, and playing in the Union Jack Classic at Wembley Stadium will be an incredible one. With nearly 18,000 international students from 160 countries, ASU already thrives on a global stage, and we can’t wait to showcase Sun Devil Football and Arizona State University to fans across Europe.”
The agreement was first reported Sept. 18 by The Post and Courier’s Scott Hamilton.
The Big 12 played a conference game in Europe already with this season’s Week 0 game between Iowa State and Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland. TCU will play North Carolina in the same event, the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, to begin next season as well.
“It’s good for exposure and awareness, a lot of people tuning in to watch a game on an international stage like that. Really neat, unique experience for our fanbase,” Rossini told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo in September.
“It’s not something we would do routinely or regularly,” he continued. “But every now and then, if it’s the right fit and it allows us to build the brand, generate some resources that we’re reinvesting in our program, I think we gotta be open-minded to those scenarios.”
Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000 and has been a frequent host of NFL games.
“I’m thrilled that Big 12 football will be heading to London for the first-ever college football game at Wembley Stadium,” Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said in a release. “I’ve often said my goal is for the Big 12 to be the most globally relevant conference in college athletics. Expanding our international presence will elevate our brand, create new opportunities for student-athletes, and open the door to meaningful commercial growth for the league.”
