The Chargers will likely be without left tackle Joe Alt in their Week 5 game against the Commanders on Sunday. Head coach Jim Harbaugh stated that Alt is “doubtful” to play after sustaining a sprained right ankle in the Week 4 loss to the Giants.
Harbaugh also mentioned that the team is taking Alt’s injury day by day and is unsure if he will need to be placed on injured reserve, which would sideline him for a minimum of four weeks.

In Alt’s absence, Los Angeles could start Austin Deculus, who played in place of Alt this past Sunday. The team could also resort to Jamaree Salyer, who has experience at left tackle, where he started during his rookie season.
The Chargers have also added some reinforcements who could be in play to start, with the signings of Michael Dunn and Bobby Hart to the practice squad.
