If you don’t know, Pete Hegseth is his name, and he is the United States Secretary of War.
Last month, President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order directing the renaming of the Department of Defense as the “Department of War.”
“I think it’s a much more appropriate name, especially in light of where the world is right now,” Trump said at the time. “We have the strongest military in the world, we have the greatest equipment in the world… every element of the military we make the best, by far.”
After the signing, he would then invite his “Secretary of War” to say a few words.
The executive order effectively authorized Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to use the title “Secretary of War.”
Speaking at the signing, Hegseth told reporters: “This name change isn’t just about renaming, it’s about restoring. Words matter… it’s restoring the warrior ethos. Restoring victory and clarity as an end state. Restoring intentionality to the use of force.”
When President Donald Trump signs executive orders, he makes sure that the world knows about it.
In February, he signed an executive order to prevent individuals who were male at birth from participating in women’s/girls’ sporting events.
In July, he signed another one titled “President Donald J. Trump Saves College Sports.”

Pete Hegseth got a title change this year, and it became quite a social media talking point.
Aside from being a military veteran and the Secretary of War, he is also a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. In fact, you can go back as far as 2021 to see that he has happily supported the team by attending games at US Bank Stadium.
A video of Hegseth going viral once again after his title change showed him happily doing the griddy while inside Northwest Stadium as he watched the Commanders take on the Vikings.
That game was from the 2022 season, a matchup that saw the Vikings come out as winners.
“That’s exactly how it should be A leader who can blend in with the people instead of hiding behind ivory towers, one fan said.
“Wow, he’s a Vikings fan. One more reason to find him disgusting,” a second fan wrote.
“Couldn’t love our Sec of War more. Badass and a cool guy and has a beautiful family. He’s the entire package. The administration is fortunate to have him!” a third person commented.
