The Washington Commanders face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday in Week 5 action. The Commanders wrapped up their second practice of the week on Thursday before boarding an early flight to California. Washington will practice on Friday at 1:20 p.m. PT at the L.A. Coliseum.
Before the Commanders hopped on the plane for Los Angeles, they revealed the Thursday injury report, which offered game designations for three players: wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown, and guard Sam Cosmi. All three players will be out for Sunday’s game. Washington chose not to fly the three players to California, allowing them to continue their rehab in Northern Virginia.

It’s the second straight missed game for McLaurin, who is dealing with a quad injury. Brown will miss his third consecutive game with knee/groin injuries. Cosmi’s 21-day practice window opened this week, and he has participated fully each day. Cosmi is recovering from offseason knee surgery and could make his debut in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears.
Here’s Washington’s Thursday injury report:
Did not participate
WR Terry McLaurin (quad): Ruled OUT
WR Noah Brown (groin/knee): Ruled OUT
CB Mike Sainristil (knee)
Limited participantFull participant
DE Dorance Armstrong (illness)
TE John Bates (calf/groin)
G Sam Cosmi (knee): Ruled OUT
TE Colson Yankoff (ankle)
The good news here is that Samuel and Sainristil are making the trip to California, which leads you to think they will play. Daniels and Bates are definitely heading toward playing on Sunday, while Payne was a new addition to the injury report.
