Shade? Unintentional oversight? You decide.

During an interview on Kevin Hart’s “Cold as Balls” show presented by Old Spice, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was asked which cornerbacks he worries about lining up against. Chase’s answer was … interesting.

“Denzel Ward … see him twice a year, he’s pretty good. I’ve been playing against Joey Porter a little more, he’s a little longer than I expected, in my division. And then I can just go with one I got this year: I’m going to go with Jaire Alexander.”

Not mentioned was Denver Broncos star cornerback Pat Surtain, the NFL’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year.

The interview was released this week, but filming took place in June, before Surtain limited Chase to one catch for eight yards on Monday. Chase faced PS2 two times earlier in his career, though, and Surtin held him to three catches for 27 yards in those two games. Despite his struggles against Surtain, Chase apparently does not view him as one of his toughest opponents (his viral video with Chad Johnson suggests otherwise, though).

Football fans can tune into Hart’s “Cold as Balls” show on the LOL Network with new episodes each week. Former Broncos tight end Vernon Davis appeared on the show earlier this year.
