Cleveland browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders was once again in front of the cameras today being asked about his situation with the team. After a rather interesting method of responding, people quickly wondered what his famous father would think of it.
For those who don’t know, Sanders responded to questions about fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel being named the Browns’ starter by pantomiming his responses. While many pointed out that his behavior was clearly a response to prior criticism he received from ESPN’s Rex Ryan for prior comments, many still consider the behavior immature.

As for Coach Prime, he considers it hilarious.
Taking to Instagram, the Colorado head football coach responded with a stream of laughing emojis followed by this encouraging message: “Good 1 son. You did that.”
NFL and college football fans were polarized by Coach Prime’s response. Some feel that they’re two peas in a pod while others felt that the behavior is just as embarrassing coming from Deion as Shedeur:
“Fair or not, the NFL hates this kind of thing. It’s how Shedduer has been taught to handle things so you can’t blame the kid. His dad raised him to be like him but there’s only one Prime,” one user on X remarked.

“Deion’s reluctancy to acknowledge he’s hurt his sons career is astonishing,” another said.
“Well at least we know where he gets it from,” wrote a third.
“I mean unprofessional or not. I thought it was funny.”

State of the Browns
Through the first month of the season, Sanders has not seen the field for the Browns at all in spite of the team’s 1-3 start and total offensive ineptitude. The Browns’ offense ranks 31st in points and 27th in yards.

Nevertheless, head coach Kevin Stefanski has balked at giving snaps to any QB other than Flacco. Gabriel has thrown four passes in two appearances this season, one of which went for a touchdown in garbage time against the Baltimore Ravens.
It’s really not clear what the Browns’ plan is for Shedeur Sanders right now or even if he will be a part of their future.
It’s certainly possible that the idea is for Flacco to start the season while Gabriel and Sanders develop, then have the two QBs compete for the starting job in 2026. But if the season keeps going the way it has been, Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry may not be given the chance to see the plan through.
