The Atlanta Falcons are a team that’s tough to predict on either side of the ball. They have times where the offense seems allergic to the end zone, like in their games against Carolina and Minnesota, but then they will look like a totally different team in other weeks.

Through the first four games of the season, the Falcons offense ranks ninth in passing yards with 226 yards per contest. Atlanta’s top-10 passing offense is paired with a top-10 rushing unit. The team is ranked seventh in the league in rushing yards, averaging 136 yards per game on the ground.

Looking on the defensive side, the Falcons run defense allows opponents to average 109 rushing yards per game, which is 16th in the NFL. However, right now, the Falcons do have the league’s second-best pass defense with just 135 yards allowed per contest.

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. comes in at 12th in the league with 918 passing yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Thus far, he has a completion percentage of 62.4 . Penix had a career-high 313 yards in the team’s Week 4 win over the Commanders.

At running back, three players have carried the ball from the backfield: Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier, and Nate Carter. While Robinson has carried the load, Allgeier is proving to be one of the best backups in the league.

Robinson is also the team’s leading receiver after four games, even if it’s by just one yard. He also is averaging the most yards per catch on the team. Drake London and Kyle Pitts aren’t too far behind Robinson. This is especially promising for Pitts, whose production ranks top 10 among tight ends.
