Robinson has racked up 584 total yards in four games this season.
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September. The dual-threat back has been the team’s offensive workhorse this season, rushing for 314 yards on the ground and adding 270 more yards as a receiver.
Robinson has been used a little bit differently each week. The former No. 8 overall pick had six catches for 100 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then he rushed for 143 yards in a Week 2 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
While the entire offense seemed to sleepwalk through Week 3, Robinson still managed to rack up over 100 all-purpose yards in a 30-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Last weekend, he rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, while adding four catches for 106 receiving yards in a win over the Washington Commanders.
The Falcons won two awards on Thursday afternoon. Not only did Robinson take home NFC Offensive Player of the Month, but safety Xavier Watts was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for September.
Watts has two interceptions, 23 tackles (17 solo) and four passes defended through his first four games. That’s not bad for a rookie. Both Watts and Robinson are just 23 years old, which bodes well for this Falcons team going forward.
Atlanta is off for a bye week but will return to host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
