The Miami Dolphins (1-3) and Carolina Panthers (1-3) meet Sunday for a Week 5 game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Dolphins vs. Panthers odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The Dolphins head to Charlotte for the first game following the season-ending knee injury to WR Tyreek Hill. He suffered a dislocated knee and torn ligaments, which will require surgery. That leaves oft-injured WR Jaylen Waddle as the No. 1 receiver, with WRs Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Malik Washington vying for a larger role behind him.
Miami posted a 27-21 win over the New York Jets Monday night despite the loss of Hill, and the Dolphins have covered back-to-back games, while cashing the Over in 3 in a row. Miami has allowed 31 or more points 3 times, and at least 21 points in all 4 outings, while scoring 21 or more in the past 3 outings.
Carolina got creamed 42-13 at New England last week, splashing cold water on a 30-0 win against the Atlanta Falcons the week before. Carolina is still 2-1 ATS in the past 3 games, and the Over is 2-1 in the 3-game span, too.
Panthers QB Bryce Young threw for a career-high 328 yards in Week 2 at Arizona, but he has just 271 total passing yards, 1 passing TD and 1 rushing TD in the past 2 outings. The good news is that he was picked off 3 times in the first 2 games, but he has none in the previous 2 contests.
Carolina isn’t without injury issues, as RB Chuba Hubbard (calf) will miss Sunday’s game. RB Rico Dowdle, who was a 1,000-yard runner for Dallas last season, takes the reins as starter.

Dolphins (-118) makes no sense on the moneyline, unless you are absolutely convinced we’re going to have an NFL tie for the second consecutive weekend. You never bet the moneyline for a team laying 2 or fewer points, but especially when it is just -1.
PASS.
Back MIAMI -1 (-110).
It’s tough for the Dolphins to move on without Hill, a tremendous downfield threat, but they still have other playmakers like Waddle and RB De’Von Achane.
For the Panthers, they’re not as deep, and the loss of bruising back Hubbard is bigger than many might think. Coach Dave Canales likes to rotate his backs, trying to keep them fresh, but now he is down to just Dowdle, who is smaller in stature. The Dolphins are likely to load the box, daring Young to beat them through the air. So far, in his brief NFL career, that hasn’t gone terribly well for the former Heisman winner.
UNDER 44.5 (-110) is the lean, but proceed with caution.
Carolina allowed 42 to New England last week, but it posted a shutout against Atlanta prior to that. This Carolina team is a bit Jekyll and Hyde, looking NFL-caliber one week, then reverting back to their awful ways the next.
Miami has been better on offense lately, but losing Hill could knock it off track a bit.
