Adams Central and South Adams put up a plethora of points Friday night. Bellmont’s pursuit of win number one in 2025 fell short against New Haven.
Ahead of what effectively has become an Allen County Athletic Conference championship game next week at Bluffton, Adams Central could’ve overlooked an improved Southern Wells team. Instead, the Jets went to Poneto and used an array of big plays to rack up 48 points in the first half in a 48-7 win over the Raiders.
Scoring an early touchdown is a perfect way to set the tone, and South Adams did exactly that against Jay County when quarterback Tytus Lehman ran 65 yards on the first play for a touchdown. When the first half ended in Berne, South Adams led 35-3. The Starfires were able to cruise the rest of the way, winning 42-16.
For Bellmont, Homecoming Friday presented an opportunity to get in the win column for the first time this year. But the Braves fell behind early and found themselves playing catch up all night as the Bulldogs earned a 45-22 victory in Decatur.
