The Miami Dolphins are fresh off their first victory of the 2025 season, and looking to build momentum in Week 5. While they’ll have to do so on the road, the Dolphins are 1.5-point favorites against the fellow 1-3 Carolina Panthers.

In their Monday win, Miami welcomed the debut of tight end Darren Waller, who scored a pair of touchdowns and should be worked in to the offense more Sunday. However, the Dolphins’ win came with a big loss with the season-ending knee injury to wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Second-year Malik Washington could be a major player to watch against the Panthers as well as the rest of the season.

With those players in mind, here are seven prop bets that could be winners in Week 5:

Dolphins RB De’Von Achane OVER 105.5 rushing and receiving yards (-115)

Miami’s best offensive weapon — especially after the loss of Hill — is dual-threat running back De’Von Achane. He is fresh off a 20-carry, 99-rushing yard performance against the Jets, which was the second-highest number of carries in his career. He is usually mixed into the passing game, but had only two targets for one reception in Week 4.

In Hill’s absence, expect a return to heavy targets for Achane, where his averages 6.25 a game so far in 2025. His total yards from scrimmage mark this week should be attainable in a mix of rushes and receptions. Achane averages 97.25 rushing plus receiving yards across four games so far this year. Look for Achane to be heavily utilized in both capacities on Sunday.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle OVER 5.5 receptions (+110)

Waddle is now thrust into the No. 1 role with Hill out for the season. Over the course of his career, Waddle has averaged 4.9 catches per game. But prior to Hill joining the Dolphins, that figure was 6.5 during his rookie season as Tua Tagovailoa’s top target.

This season, Waddle is averaging 4.3 receptions per game, but now he’s the top man in the room. He should see a heavy portion of the 7.25 targets per game that were going to Hill. If an extra three or four balls go Waddle’s way that should be enough to get him to six receptions against Carolina.

Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan OVER 64.5 receiving yards (-118)

Carolina’s No. 9 overall pick from the 2025 NFL draft is currently No. 14 in the league in receiving yards with 278. His 15.4 yards per receptions is No. 10. With Miami down starting cornerback Storm Duck, and the Panthers without running back Chuba Hubbard, Carolina quarterback Bryce Young should rely heavily on McMillan.

Additionally, if Miami manages to get out to an early lead, there is potential for plenty of second-half comeback attempt yards for Young and McMillan.

Dolphins WR Malik Washington OVER 30.5 receiving yards (-110)

Washington was listed as Hill’s backup on the initial Miami depth chart and could be a major beneficiary of the offensive adjustments. He’s a triple-threat player with his receiving, rushing, and return abilities, and should see a significant spike in targets.

While he’s only averaging 3.75 targets a game so far this season, that mark could double as he is now Miami’s No. 2 receiver after Waddle. Washington has been one of the most added players this week in fantasy leagues, so there’s plenty of people expecting an increase in his productivity.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa UNDER 32.5 pass attempts (-125)

Tua Tagovailoa is averaging 28.5 passing attempts per game this season, and that was boosted by some early deficits. Barring a rough start against the Panthers, the Dolphins should rely on running the ball in Week 5, especially if they take a lead into the second half and fourth quarter. It helps too that the Panthers are giving up the NFL’s fifth-highest yards per carry (4.9).

Dolphins TE Darren Waller OVER 2.5 receptions (-175)

Waller only played 16 snaps in his debut and still made three catches with two touchdowns. The Panthers have given up the second-most yards to tight ends this season, so Waller should be a main target for Tagovailoa. Waller’s odds at going over the 2.5 receptions are being looked at as basically a gimme at -175.

Panthers RB Rico Dowdle OVER 59.5 rushing yards (-110)

Dowdle, who had a 1,000-yard season last year with the Dallas Cowboys, is set to start with Hubbard sidelined. Carolina should use the run against Miami early, as the Dolphins are allowing the third-most ground yards in the league so far this year with 632. Miami has also yielded the fourth-most yards per carry (5.1).

The four running backs Miami has faced this season have all had quality games. Jonathan Taylor, Rhamondre Stevenson, James Cook, and Breece Hall averaged 78.5 rushing yards and 117.25 total scrimmage yards per game against the Dolphins.
