Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action continue on Sunday with the Detroit Lions visiting the Cincinnati Bengals at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
The Lions’ Week 1 letdown is far in the rearview mirror as they improved to 3-1 on the year by crushing the Browns in a 34-10 beatdown last Sunday. It was an overall good day for the team, but wide receiver Jameson Williams struggled a bit in the contest and he will look to get back on track this week.
Below, we’ll go over Williams’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 5.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions WR Jameson Williams
Williams caught just two of eight targets for 40 yards in last Sunday’s win, earning less than six fantasy points in all scoring formats for the week. The Lions receiver had a few drops in what was a pretty rough performance for him individually and afterwards, he simply chalked it up as a bad day at the office. However, the fourth-year wideout hasn’t been as prolific as he was last season as he has just one touchdown heading into Week 5 and just one game with more than two receptions.
Even with his relative lack of production so far, Jared Goff is still hunting for him as a big-play option with an average depth of target of 21.45 air yards that ranks fifth in the league. He’s in boom or bust territory at the moment and fantasy managers are certainly hoping a boom comes this week.

Sit. Cincinnati’s defense has been shredded for the past two weeks and while it’s pass defense has been poor, it has actually been effective at not giving up explosive plays. In contrast, the Bengals have been shredded on the ground, so it should be a good week for Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery managers. Williams managers, not so much.
