Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action continue on Sunday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading west to meet the Seattle Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Bucs weren’t able to pull off their fourth quarter magic last Sunday, falling short to the Eagles 31-25 in their first setback of the season. Tight end Cade Otton was not much of a factor and he has yet to have a breakout performance this season.

Below, we’ll go over Otton’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 5.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs TE Cade Otton

Otton caught just three of four targets for nine yards in last Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, capping an unproductive first month of the season for him as a pass catcher. Coming off a career season where he had 600 yards and four touchdowns, the fourth-year tight end was barely utilized in the passing game with just six receptions for 11 yards through four games.

However, it’s not like he’s been chilling on the bench for the first mont. In fact, it’s been the exact opposite as he’s been on the field for 92% of Tampa’s offensive snaps. With the team dealing with so many injuries on the offensive line, Otton has been used as a blocking tight end through the first four games and has quietly freed up other offensive playmakers to make big plays. Baker Mayfield did acknowledge the need to get the tight end involved in the passing game more and with the likes of Tristan Wirfs returning to action, we may very well see more targets for the tight end.

Start. Ok, here me out here. The Bucs had a successful month of September despite injuries to several key players like Mike Evans and that required someone different to step up each week. They will be in a similar situation on the road against the Seahawks on Sunday, but will have the fortune of facing a defense that is yielding the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. I’ll go really bold here and predict that this is the game where Otton finally shows out for the Bucs and I’ll endorse fantasy managers taking a huge risk by starting him this week.
