The Browns played the Minnesota Vikings in the one of the league’s international games Oct. 5 and they drew first blood in the first quarter on a TD catch by Fannin.
After recovering a fumble caused by defensive end Alex Wright in the first quarter, the team marched 47 yards mostly behind the legs of rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.
But on second-and-goal at the 1-yard line, quarterback Dillon Gabriel, getting his first regular season start, found Fannin in the left side of the end zone for the Canton native’s first career touchdown at 3:28 in the first quarter to give the Browns a 7-0 lead.
