Aaron Rodgers was exactly what the Pittsburgh Steelers needed after several seasons of poor quarterback play — and it’s clearly left the right impression on former Patriots QB Tom Brady.
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion turned FOX Sports analyst, marveled over Rodgers’ recent success in Pittsburgh — downplaying the offseason drama narrative that has plagued the four-time MVP throughout his career.
“Beyond impressed,” Brady said, referencing Rodgers’ strong start with the Steelers. “I think at that age, there are so many other factors that come into play about how to be a great quarterback. You know, we all want to talk about what happens in the offseason with him, and there are a lot of narratives. But what we know about him on the field is he’s a surgical passer. He’s got a killer instinct. He’s hypercompetitive. And I think he’s brought all those things to Pittsburgh.”
Through four games, Rodgers has thrown for 786 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with an impressive 102.6 passer rating.
While it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of Pittsburgh’s early success, the Steelers started 3-1 last season as well before their mid-to-late-season collapse culminated in another first-round playoff exit.
To prevent history from repeating itself, Pittsburgh will need to lean heavily on Rodgers as the 2025 regular season treads on — keeping his jersey clean so he can utilize the game-changing attributes mentioned by Brady.
