Ja’Marr Chase clowns reporter’s outfit during Bengals press conference

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase couldn’t keep a straight face while talking to a reporter during a press conference on July 24.

Ja’Marr Chase plays offense for the Bengals, but the star wide receiver is a Cincinnati defender.

Chase praised Cincinnati and its people after Kevin Hart jokingly described the city as “a s— city” on Hart’s YouTube TV show “Cold As Balls.”

During the episode, which aired Sept. 30 on Hart’s LOL Network, the comedian asked Chase questions about his football career while the two sat in ice baths.

At one point, Hart brought up the Bengals‘ appearance in Super Bowl 56 and went on to describe the city as historically “dead” in regards to football.

“Not since the late days of the Ickey Shuffle has the city of Cincinnati had anything to celebrate. Not a playoff game, not a winning season. A s— city with no wins at all,” Hart said.

The Bengals have had multiple winning seasons since former running back Ickey Woods played for the team in the late 1980s and early ’90s.

Chase cut Hart off and told him he was “overdoing it.” Hart then asked Chase if he was motivated even more by giving the city a “pulse” when it comes to football.

“I think just bringing something to Cincinnati is incredible,” Chase said. “I don’t know if you’re talking all this bad stuff about Cincy, but the people are incredible, they’re beautiful. … They are very good people there.”

“We’re gonna definitely bring a championship to Cincy, man. We’re close. We’re biting our nails trying to get it. So, I know everybody in Cincinnati (is) waiting for it,” Chase continued. “We’re pushing to get it for y’all.”

The episode was filmed in late June. The Bengals have since suffered two ugly losses after the team announced quarterback Joe Burrow would miss a significant amount of time due to a turf toe injury.

Chase went on to answer additional questions from Hart. He described his relationship with teammate Tee Higgins, saying he’s a “great person” and discussed the toughest cornerbacks he’s played against in the league.
