Thursday Night Football prediction, Oct. 9

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants, 5:15 p.m., Prime Video (stream on Amazon)

The Eagles led the Denver Broncos in NFL Week 5 at the end of the third quarter, 17-3. They lost, 21-17, with an epic fourth-quarter collapse. We expect that to be a huge wakeup call for Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia as it rolls over a New York Giants team that had five turnovers in a loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Prediction: Eagles 30, Giants 17

Sunday international game in London prediction, Oct. 12

Denver Broncos vs New York Jets, 6:30 a.m., NFL Network (stream with FUBO)

How big was the Broncos’ improbable comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles? It moved them to 3-2 and in a tie for first place in the AFC West. Denver’s defense could shine against the winless Jets in this NFL game in London.

Prediction: Broncos 27, Jets 17

Sunday early NFL game predictions, Oct. 12

Los Angeles Rams at Baltimore Ravens, 10 a.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)

The Ravens have given up 177 points this season, the most in the NFL. That doesn’t bode well for Baltimore, even if Lamar Jackson were to return for this game. Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ offense will put up some points on the road.

Prediction: Rams 31, Ravens 20

Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers, 10 a.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)

The Panthers overcame a 17-0 deficit in the second quarter to beat the Miami Dolphins in NFL Week 5, showing some mettle and moving to 2-0 at home. But, Bryce Young and company won’t be able to keep up with a Cowboys’ offense that has 77 points in its past two games.

Prediction: Cowboys 28, Panthers 20

Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts, 10 a.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)

The Cardinals have lost three straight games on field goals as time has expired, including Emari Demercado and the team’s disastrous collapse against the Tennessee Titans in NFL Week 5. We don’t think Daniel Jones and company will need a late field goal to win this one.

Prediction: Colts 28, Cardinals 17

Seattle Seahawks at Jacksonville Jaguars, 10 a.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)

A late interception marred a beautiful game from Sam Darnold (28-for-34, 341 yards, four touchdowns) in the close loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Darnold and Seattle will rebound on the road with a close win over a Jaguars team facing a short week.

Prediction: Seahawks 24, Jaguars 23

Los Angeles Chargers at Miami Dolphins, 10 a.m., CBS (stream with FUBO)

Both of these teams were on the wrong side of double-digit comebacks in NFL Week 5. Justin Herbert and Los Angeles have dropped two straight after a 3-0 start. The Chargers will edge the Dolphins in a tight game in Miami.

Prediction: Chargers 27, Dolphins 24

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers, 10 a.m., CBS (stream with FUBO)

Dillon Gabriel gave Cleveland fans some hope in the Browns’ close loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London in NFL Week 5, but the Steelers will be rested and ready for the rookie QB after a week off (and after beating the Vikings in Dublin in NFL Week 4).

Prediction: Steelers 24, Browns 14

New England Patriots at New Orleans Saints, 10 a.m., CBS (stream with FUBO)

Drake Maye and the Patriots have won two straight, including an impressive win over the Buffalo Bills in NFL Week 5. Can Spencer Rattler and the Saints upset New England? Not if Maye continues to play mistake-free football (22-for-30, 273 yards vs. Bills).

Prediction: Patriots 24, Saints 20

Sunday late NFL game predictions, Oct. 12

Tennessee Titans at Las Vegas Raiders, 1:05 p.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)

Can Cam Ward and the Titans keep the momentum going after their epic comeback against the Arizona Cardinals? The Raiders have lost four straight. Geno Smith and Las Vegas will end that skid with a close win over Tennessee.

Prediction: Raiders 23, Titans 21

San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1:25 p.m., CBS (stream with FUBO)

Two 4-1 teams face off in perhaps the game of the week in the NFL. The 49ers had extra time to get ready for this game after beating the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football, but Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay will pull off some more late-game magic to move to 5-1.

Prediction: Buccaneers 30, 49ers 27

Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers, 1:25 p.m., CBS (stream with FUBO)

This game has the biggest point spread in NFL Week 6 odds and it’s not hard to see why. QB woes for Cincinnati make Green Bay a huge favorite. Can Jake Browning surprise? We just don’t see it.

Prediction: Packers 31, Bengals 13

Sunday Night Football prediction, Oct. 12

Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs, 5:20 p.m., NBC (stream on Peacock)

Yes, the Chiefs are at home and are a slight favorite in odds for this game. Jared Goff and company, however, have won four straight and are the hottest team in the NFL. Kansas City won’t be able to score enough points to stay with Detroit.

Prediction: Lions 34, Chiefs 24

Monday Night Football prediction, Oct. 13

Buffalo Bills at Atlanta Falcons, 4:15 p.m., ESPN (stream with FUBO)

The Bills were held to their lowest offensive output of the season (23 points) in the loss to the New England Patriots. Josh Allen and company will bounce back in a big way against the Falcons.

Prediction: Bills 35, Falcons 24

Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders, 5:15 p.m., ABC (stream with FUBO)

The Commanders overcame a 10-0 deficit in their win over the Los Angeles Chargers in NFL Week 5 and face a rested Bears team in Chicago that has won two straight. This game has the week’s highest point total for a reason. Jayden Daniels will outduel Caleb Williams in a classic.

Prediction: Commanders 31, Bears 30

The Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings are off this week.
