Some new NFL trade rumors open the door for either the Kansas City Chiefs or Washington Commanders to address a major flaw before the deadline.
Both the Chiefs and Commanders have Super Bowl aspirations this season. And why not? Kansas City reached the big game earlier this year as they attempted to win a third straight championship. Washington stunned the league to reach the NFC Championship in year one for head coach Dan Quinn and quarterback Jayden Daniels.

However, the first five weeks of the season have shown that both teams have notable flaws. Injuries to key players can be blamed for certain struggles on offense, but they have either gotten injured talent back or will soon. Yet, the Chiefs and Commanders have a clear weakness that they will not be able to fix internally. Their run games.
It is insane to say, but heading into Week 6, superstar QB Patrick Mahomes leads KC in rushing yards (130). That is plain unacceptable. DC has a better excuse for their rushing attack struggles after veteran Austin Ekeler suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2. However, it seems the opportunity is there for the team to bring in a five-time Pro Bowler to address their production problem out of the backfield.

Late last week, FOX Sports NFL reporter Ralph Vacchiano reported that many around the game expect the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets to be prominent sellers before next month’s trade deadline. NewOrleans.Football reporter Nick Underhill confirmed the Saints will likely start listening to offers soon, and that there are already “teams interested in some of the Saints’ veteran players.”

That is why the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders could and should inquire about the asking price of Alvin Kamara. Even in year nine, Kamara is still one of the better dual-threat RBs in the league. In 14 games last season, he ran for just under 1,000 yards, added 543 yards through the air, and had eight total TDs.
He is also signed for next season for a cap hit of $18 million. The Saints star would be a great addition for either team. However, if the asking price is too high, Jets vet Breece Hall would be a strong backup option.
Hall is very much like a poor man’s Kamara, since he can make an impact out of the backfield as a rusher and receiver. He would come at a more affordable cost (possibly a fifth or sixth-round pick), and if things don’t work out, he is a rental because his contract expires this season.
