Amazon Prime NFL analyst and former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth blasted the team’s front office for the players acquired via draft and free agency to play offensive line during an appearance on ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show” one day after the Bengals’ third consecutive loss.

“I would like to see them spend (money) in the offensive-line room,” Whitworth told McAfee. “That’s where I think they should spend a little more money. They’ve been terrible at it. That’s the problem. It’s been since 2011 since they drafted an offensive lineman and he signed a second contract. I want you to think about that: 14 years. … I think it’s evaluation. If you look at it, I’m gonna throw myself in the mix. 2011 since they drafted a guy and he re-signed a contract. And they’ve let Kevin Zeitler and myself walk in free agency. So if you can’t draft an offensive lineman, and then you’ve let guys leave who continue to go elsewhere and win, you clearly have an evaluation problem of the priority of the position.”

In December 2024, Whitworth said Bengals’ fans deserve a “swing for the fences” while Joe Burrow is the team’s quarterback.

Whitworth played 11 seasons for the Bengals from 2006 to 2016.
