WASHINGTON (7News) — The Commanders are coming off an exciting win against the Los Angeles Chargers and so is Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

The running back for Washington is a nominee for the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Award.

In Week 5, Croskey-Merritt recorded 111 rushing yards, 39 receiving yards, and two touchdowns on 14 carries.

The Commanders defeated the Chargers 27-10.

The FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week recognize standout performance for all offensive positions.

Fans can participate in the voting, which concludes on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The two players with the highest votes will be named the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week.

If selected, Croskey-Merritt’s win would include a $2,000 donation to D.C.’s local food bank, Capital Area Food Bank — part of the Feeding America network.

The Montgomery, Ala native is among other nominees, including Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold, Tampa Bay’s quarterback Baker Mayfield, Houston’s quarterback CJ Stroud, Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle, and Tampa’s wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.
