Injuries have rocked the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense in recent weeks — but one key contributor in OLB Alex Highsmith is seemingly set for a Week 6 return against the Cleveland Browns.

Highsmith, who was able to log a bonus day of practice on Monday, revealed expectations for a Week 6 return vs. the Browns — great news coming out of the much-needed bye.

“By Friday, mostly a full go and then get ready for Sunday,” Highsmith said, courtesy of The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo.

In a previous report, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ray Fittipaldo echoed a similar belief — that Highsmith, as well as CB Joey Porter Jr. and RB Jaylen Warren, would return vs. Cleveland.

In Pittsburgh’s Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Highsmith injured his ankle and was forced to miss two games. In his absence, OLB Nick Herbig stepped up in a huge way — accumulating 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, an interception, and leading the team with eight quarterback hits in just three games.

Steelers fans can watch Highsmith’s likely return vs. the Browns on October 12 at 1:00 p.m. EDT — the first of Pittsburgh’s exciting divisional matchups this 2025 season.
