Russell totaled five points (1-3 FG, 2-2 FT, 1-3 3Pt), five assists and two rebounds over 15 minutes on Monday’s 106-89 preseason win over Oklahoma City.
Russell will be the clear starter at point guard for the Mavericks until Kyrie Irving (knee) returns. Irving will remain out until January at the earliest, and Russell should see max minutes due to a lack of clear competition on the depth chart.
