The Dallas Cowboys seem ready to ride against running back Rico Dowdle and the Carolina Panthers.
Following Sunday’s comeback win over the Miami Dolphins, Dowdle sent a bit of a warning shot to his former team—advising the Cowboys to “buckle up” for their upcoming matchup in Week 6.

In case you haven’t already, take a listen . . .
Well, that message has been received.
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer, during his press conference on Monday, made sure to make note of Dowdle’s advice.
“It’ll be good to see Rico this weekend,” Schottenheimer told reporters. “I know we’re gonna have to buckle up, he said. We’ll bring our seatbelts, Rico. We’ll buckle up. Can’t wait to see him though.”
Schottenheimer and Dowdle shared a sideline for three seasons, with the former serving as a coaching analyst for Dallas in 2022 and their offensive coordinator in 2023 and 2024. 2024 saw Dowdle rush for his first 1,000-yard campaign.

But hopefully for Schottenheimer and the Cowboys, Dowdle doesn’t take them for a spin like he just did with the Dolphins. Dowdle ran for a career-high 206 yards and a touchdown in Carolina’s 27-24 win from Week 5.
