Happy Tuesday, and welcome back to another edition of the 10 best things I saw in recruiting this week. You know the drill. High school football is as competitive as ever, and there’s no shortage of talent, highlight-worthy moments and big plays on display every week across the country.

Let’s dive in.

Note: All rankings are from the 247Sports Composite.

10. Four-star Ohio native Victor Singleton is ranked No. 49 overall and the No. 5 cornerback in the Class of 2026. The Texas A&M commit should have no problem helping the Aggies’ defense in the years to come. But if coach Mike Elko wants to use him as a special teams weapon, well, he’ll have that option.

Singleton has now blocked two field goals and returned them both for touchdowns this season, his latest coming on Friday night when his Toledo Central Catholic team beat Toledo St. John’s Jesuit 42-7. Late in the second quarter, Singleton blocked this kick and returned it for a score. The next day, he was in College Station to see the Aggies beat Mississippi State. Not a bad weekend for the top player in Ohio and one of Elko’s most dynamic prospects.

If I had a nickel for every time Victor Singleton (@victorsin__) blocked a FG and returned it for a touchdown this season, I’d have 2⃣ nickels… Which isn’t a lot but weird it’s happened twice@centralcatholic | @ToledoCCHS_FB | @BCSNSports pic.twitter.com/iRqVflwzsw

9. Notre Dame has a rich tradition of churning out dominant tight ends, and five-star Kansas native Ian Premer might just be next in line. Premer’s combination of route-running, speed and power has to have coach Marcus Freeman pumped about having him in South Bend next year. Premer, ranked No. 32 overall and the No. 3 tight end in the class, had two catches for 33 yards and two touchdowns, including this one, in Great Bend’s 41-0 win over Dodge City on Friday. In five games, he has 16 catches for 287 yards and six scores, averaging 17.9 yards per reception.

I’m very excited to see 2026 5 ⭐️ TE commit Ian Premer play at Notre Dame for the next few years.

Should see the field right away next season.

Elite talent.

8. Is it too early to start talking about the Class of 2028? No? Good. Meet five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland of IMG (Fla.) Academy, who somehow slipped past eight defenders on this touchdown run in a 27-14 win over Venice (Fla.) High on Friday. McFarland is originally from Las Vegas, and while he is listed at only 5 feet 9 inches, he is clearly explosive, having reported a 4.3 in the 40. His most recent offer is from Kansas State in August, and he already had offers from Michigan, LSU, Vanderbilt, Oregon, Florida, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Miami, Ole Miss and others from earlier this year. There’s plenty of time to go, but keep your eye on him.

7. Bennett Gillman will take that one, thank you. The 6-foot, 180-pound Class of 2026 defensive back and wide receiver has no stars and no recruiting profile on 247Sports, but came down with one of the smoothest interceptions of the season on Thursday night, when Omaha (Neb.) Elkhorn South cruised past Burke (Neb.) High 63-0 to improve to 6-0. This one-handed grab showed off his athleticism and leaping ability, and running it in for the score was easy work. Dakota State University, in Madison, S.D., is his most recent offer, but plays like this will perhaps only get him on the radar of more schools.

6. OK, Bowe Bentley. The Oklahoma commit turned on the jets for this touchdown run in which he avoided pressure, juked out a defender with a pump fake and zigged and zagged his way through traffic. Bentley, a four-star in the Class of 2026, is now 6-0 with Celina (Texas) High and finished his most recent game Friday night against Aubrey (Texas) High with 14 completions on 19 attempts for 177 yards and three touchdowns against zero interceptions. He then flashed a “horns down” to celebrate as his Sooners get ready for the Red River Rivalry this week.

This might be the play of the day from Bowe Bentley. The future #Sooners QB senses pressure, steps up, dekes a defender out of his shoes, then scampers 27 yards through the Aubrey defense for a touchdown run.

Bowe Bentley’s doing his part to help the #Sooners lock down several elite flip targets at wide receiver. 👀

5. Meet Micah Kemp, a 2026 wide receiver who has no profile on any of the major recruiting services and who hasn’t had much traction on the recruiting trail. Kemp, who plays at Grand Blanc (Mich.) High, is grinding for the 6-0 Bobcats. He came down with the catch of his career on Friday night in Grand Blanc’s 51-0 win against Lapeer (Mich.) High.

MICAH KEMP ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 😱 The senior goes up and MAKES the “YOU GOT MOSS’D” catch in their win over Lapeer Friday night! 4. There’s a new leader in Illinois state history for career passing touchdowns. Come on down, Jonas Williams. The four-star USC commit now has 131 career touchdown passes and broke the record on this pass. His entire team wasted no time in sprinting toward their quarterback to celebrate with him in the end zone.

3. The state of Alabama had quite the quarterback showdown on Friday night, when Gunner Rivers from St. Michael Catholic in Fairhope took on Landon Duckworth from Jackson (Ala.) High. Rivers, a four-star prospect in the Class of 2027, is the son of former NFL star Philip Rivers, who is the team’s head coach. Duckworth is a four-star Class of 2026 South Carolina commit who is ranked No. 75 nationally.

This one went to Rivers and company on a night when Gunner put forth his best impression of his dad and completed 25 of 37 attempts for 300 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. Duckworth, meanwhile, went 9 of 14 for 167 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Rivers was dealing all night and made it look easy as he excelled with both the deep ball and the intermediate passes. St. Michael Catholic is now 6-0, and Rivers is completing 72.3 percent of his attempts for 1,409 yards and 26 touchdowns against one interception. He’s currently the No. 7 quarterback in the Class of 2027.

Rivers ranks No. 77 NATL. (No. 7 QB) in the 2027 class.

2. How is Brandon Arrington this fast? The five-star Texas A&M commit from Southern California, listed as an athlete on his 247Sports bio, calls himself Brandon “Dash” Arrington, but even that feels like an understatement on this return for a touchdown. Like Singleton, Arrington was jazzed up about the Aggies beating Mississippi State on Saturday in College Station, where the future for Elko’s group is looking more electric by the day.

1. Five-star running back Ezavier Crowell teams with Duckworth, the South Carolina QB commit, at Jackson High School in Alabama. The Aggies lost to Rivers and St. Michael Catholic on Friday night, but nothing in high school football was more impressive than this hurdle, which rightfully checked in at No. 7 on “SportsCenter’s” top 10. The Alabama commit is the nation’s No. 2 running back for a reason. Head coach Kalen DeBoer must be counting down the days until he arrives in Tuscaloosa.
