What an insane week for the Tennessee Titans (1-4), as they pulled off an improbable comeback to beat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5 action.

In a game that followed the same outline that has been seen by Titans fans throughout the entire Brian Callahan era, the team took advantage of some Cardinals miscues and flipped the script. Tennessee roared back from a 21-6 deficit and dominated play in the fourth quarter to come from behind in a last-second thriller.

This week, the Titans will once again head west for a matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders (1-4). This will be the first time Tennessee heads to Sin City to meet the Raiders, although the teams have a long history of competing against each other.

This will be the 53rd meeting between the two franchises, with the Raiders holding an eight-game advantage. However, the Titans have got the better of the Raiders in recent years, winning the past two meetings in 2019 and 2022.

The Raiders are coming off a crushing defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5 and will look to get back on track. After opening the season with a win against the New England Patriots, the Raiders have dropped their past four contests.

Week 6 is just four days away, so let’s take a look at the pulse of the Titans around the NFL.

Crazy comeback requires crazy plays

The Titans scored 16 fourth-quarter points to come from behind against the Cardinals in one of the craziest games in memory. But they wouldn’t have gotten there without a couple of plays that are truly beyond comprehension. Those two plays changed the complexion of the game, and although it’s too early to tell, they may have turned the tide of the season.

Cam Ward’s first win

It wasn’t the best of games by the young gunslinger, but he came up clutch when the team needed him. For the first three-plus quarters, Ward struggled, but appeared to flip a switch and played an almost flawless final eight minutes, showing flashes of pinpoint accuracy and big-play potential.

This was a huge moment for Ward and the Titans, and he came up big at the most crucial time of the game to lead Tennessee to victory.

Jeffery Simmons is a beast

Jeffery Simmons is playing at an All-Pro level and may be the best interior defensive lineman in the league. He dominated the Cardinals and was a major reason why the Titans’ defense seized control of the game after struggling early on. Simmons had eight tackles (six solo) and 1.5 sacks, and most importantly, disrupted the Cardinals’ offense at every turn.

It’s hard to believe that some fans are taking to social media to discuss trading away Simmons, who is clearly the best defensive player, and arguably the best player on the entire roster.

That’s more like it, Calvin

For most of 2025, Calvin Ridley has struggled. But that wasn’t the case against the Cardinals. Ridley exploded for five catches for 131 yards, including a huge catch near the end of the game to help set up the Titans for the game winner.

Much like Cam Ward and the rest of the Titans, he came to life in the fourth quarter and was the explosive receiver that many expected to see this season.

What’s up with Treylon?

Wide receiver Treylon Burks has been on injured reserve since fracturing his collarbone early in training camp. Now, five weeks into the season, his status has come to life on social media after it was reported that he was cleared to return to football and was released by the Titans from injured reserve.

While that may indeed happen, Burks remains on the Titans roster, and this will be a situation to monitor. Burks has been a disappointment since being drafted in the first round by the Titans, but he was having a strong camp until the injury sidelined him.

This is what a “Victory Monday” feels like

The Titans snapped their losing streak that dated back to the 2024 season and finally got a much-needed win. Tennessee played hard and fought for the entire 60 minutes, with Joey Slye nailing the game-winner as time expired.

This made for a great Monday for the team and the fans, and here’s hoping there is more in the future.
