The Buffalo Bills continue to add depth to their defensive line late in the offseason. The Bills placed a waiver claim for defensive tackle Casey Rogers, formerly of the New York Giants. The addition leaves the Bills with one remaining roster spot ahead of mandatory minicamp.
The Giants waived Rogers early on Friday morning, with the Bills wasting no time in bringing him in, making the claim Friday night. An upstate New York native, Rogers grew up in Syracuse, where he was a standout lacrosse player for Westhill Senior High School.

Rogers initially committed to play college lacrosse for his hometown Syracuse Orange. He instead chose to focus on football, garnering interest from Alabama, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. He committed to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where he spent three seasons before transferring to Oregon.
Rogers spent two seasons at Oregon, tallying 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three tackles for loss in his final collegiate season. He had a PFF grade of 72.6, including a 71.9 run defense mark, and a 69.6 mark for pass rushing. His tackle grade was a putrid 28.4 mark, but he posted fantastic marks in his previous three seasons of 81.2, 79.7 and 73.1, respectively.
Rogers went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, with the Giants inking him to a deal on April 28, 2024. He spent the majority of his time with the Giants on the practice squad, but did appear in two NFL games for 33 snaps, but didn’t record any stats.
Rogers had solid measurable leading up to the NFL Draft. Being measured at 6’4 3/8″, 294 pounds with 32″ arms and 9″ hands. At his pro day, Rogers turned in a sub-five-second 40-yard dash (4.82), a 1.75-second 10-yard split, 2.84 seconds in the 20-yard split, a 4.51-second 20-yard shuttle, and a 7.45-second three-cone drill. Rogers also posted a vertical jump of 35”, broad jump of 9’8”, and put up 25 reps on the bench press.

Rogers joins a deep room of interior defensive linemen, headlined by Ed Oliver and Daquan Jones, with a pair of draft picks in Deone Walker and T.J. Sanders, and fellow newcomer Larry Ogunjobi,
