Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and defensive back Shilo Sanders fell further than most expected in the 2025 NFL draft. However, the sons of former NFL star and current Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders have seemingly done everything right since receiving the draft call.
Most recently, Shilo, an undrafted free-agent signing by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, made waves during his first media session.

Sanders put his professionalism and the bright personality fans have come to appreciate on full display right out of the gate. As seen in the clip below, posted by ESPN’s Jenna Laine, the rookie shook hands with every reporter in attendance immediately after he walked through the door.
Shilo’s approach grabbed plenty of attention, and it came one day after Shedeur, who the Cleveland Browns selected in the fifth round, continued to downplay his wild draft-day slide, as NFL.com’s Coral Smith highlighted.
“I don’t even try to think about that day [the draft], because I got practice, you know?” Sanders said Saturday in his first comments since draft weekend. “All that stuff was cool for that time, but now I’ve got practice, I’ve got to learn the playbooks.”

The former Colorado signal-caller has repeatedly reiterated that he’s just “excited” to get to work with the Browns.
“My story is going to be similar, you know, I was a late-round draft pick,” Sanders said. “But we’re here now, so none of that stuff matters, it just mattered on the day. I’m just excited to be here and ready to work.”
As for Shilo, he’ll have a chance to showcase the talent flashed during his two-year stint at Colorado and in the years prior. During his final two collegiate seasons, the safety totaled 137 combined tackles (99 solo), three tackles for loss, five passes defensed, five forced fumbles and one interception over 21 games.
