After blowing a 17-3 lead on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles have a quick turnaround for a Thursday Night Football game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Although the Eagles are 4-1, many fans are frustrated with the issues on offense. Now heading into a matchup with their NFC East division rivals, the Birds are dealing with the most injuries the team has faced in the 2025 NFL season.
After suffering an Ankle Injury during Sunday’s loss to the Broncos, Pro Bowl Left Guard Landon Dickerson was listed as Did Not Participate in any practices or walk-through this week.
But Philadelphia’s opponent on Thursday Night is also dealing with significant injuries. Two weeks ago, the New York Giants lost star Wide Receiver Malik Nabers to a season-ending Knee Injury. Then this past Sunday, the man filling in for Nabers, Darius Slayton, also sustained a Hamstring Injury.
Who Has Been Ruled Out For Eagles vs Giants on Thursday Night Football
No one is surprised that one of the two Eagles players ruled out for the first matchup between the NFC East rivals is Landon Dickerson. The 27-year-old Left Guard is currently dealing with an Ankle Injury, but he also sustained a Knee Injury back in August during Training Camp. He will have extra time to recover with Philadelphia having 10 days off between Thursday Night and the Eagles next game.
Philadelphia will be without Backup Tight End Grant Calcaterra due to an Oblique Injury. The expectation is that without former University of Oklahoma Tight End, the Eagles will see more playing time from Kylen Granson and Cameron Latu.
Two other Eagles players were listed as Questionable for Thursday Night Football:
-Defensive Tackle Jalen Carter is dealing with a Heel Injury after dealing with a Shoulder Issue in recent weeks
-Linebacker Nakobe Dean had his 21-day practice window activated last week as he ramps up his training in return from his season-ending knee injury last year. Dean was inactive for this past Sunday’s game versus the Broncos and would need to be activated for Thursday Night’s game in order to play.
The Giants have ruled out three players for Thursday Night Football:
-As we mentioned earlier, Darius Slayton is dealing with a Hamstring Injury, leaving the G-Men down two Wide Receivers for the matchup with the Eagles.
-Linebackers LB Swayze Bozeman (Ankle Injury) and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (Hamstring Injury) are both unavailable to play on Thursday Night.
Starting Right Tackle Jermaine Eluemunor is listed as questionable for the Eagles matchup because he is dealing with a Back Issue. Giants are already starting Rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart, and the team will potentially be without three starters on offense.
