The Washington Commanders face the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football in a rematch of last season’s epic Week 8 game. In that game, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels shocked the Bears with a 52-yard Hail Mary as time expired. That win ruined Chicago’s season, as the Bears would lose 10 in a row and fire their coach in the process.
At NFL Honors in February, Daniels’ Hail Mary touchdown pass to Noah Brown won the NFL Moment of the Year award.

It would be understandable if the Hail Mary held a special spot in Daniels’ heart. However, when he met with the media on Wednesday, he did not want to discuss it.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about it,” Daniels said of the Hail Mary. “I just leave that, last year speaks about itself.”
That’s the answer you want to hear from your young quarterback. Daniels understands that play was special, but it was a part of last season. Daniels is not trying to spend any amount of time focusing on something that doesn’t help the Commanders on Monday night.
“I mean that Hail Mary isn’t going to help us win a game on Monday. So, what’s the point?”
He’s right.

Washington is 3-2, with both losses coming to NFC teams. The Commanders cannot afford another early-season loss to an NFC team. While the Bears have other motivations to win this game, Washington is focused solely on the next game on the schedule.
