The Atlanta Falcons have their work cut out for them entering Monday’s prime-time matchup against reigning MVP quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Even with extra time to prepare for their Week 6 showdown against the 4-1 Bills, the Falcons will need pretty much everything to go right to secure a win.
Atlanta currently sits at 2-2, but the team hasn’t faced a quarterback of Allen’s caliber yet this season. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris paid the ultimate compliment to the Bills quarterback during his Thursday press conference.

“He’s turned himself into arguably the best player in the league,” Morris said of Allen before discussing the immense challenge that Buffalo presents. “It’s definitely a challenge for us, but it’s something that we embrace, something that we love.”
Thus far in 2025, Allen has passed for 1,217 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, while rushing for 212 yards and three more scores on the ground. Fortunately for the Falcons, they have the NFL’s top-rated pass defense to help combat Allen and the high-flying Bills offense.
Atlanta’s offense has moved the ball well this season but touchdowns have been hard to come by. After the team struggled in a 30-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers, offensive coordinator Zac Robinson moved down from the coaching box to the sideline and the results improved.
The Falcons defeated the Washington Commanders, 34-27, in Week 4 behind a career-high 313 passing yards from quarterback Michael Penix Jr. The team will need Penix to be at his best in Week 6, but the key to victory may be as simple as letting Bijan Robinson carry the load on the ground.

Robinson has racked up 584 total yards (314 rushing yards) and two touchdowns in four games, taking home NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.
In terms of injuries, the Falcons hope to get cornerback A.J. Terrell back this week after he missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney is considered “day-to-day” and will miss Thursday’s practice due to his own hamstring injury.
Check back this afternoon for the team’s Thursday injury report. Plus, make sure to check out the Falcons’ latest depth chart and updated 53-man roster entering Week 6.
