Texas A&M put itself in the College Football Playoff conversation with a 41-40 win on the road over then-No. 8 Notre Dame on Sept. 13. Since that game, head coach Mike Elko’s defense has been swarming, allowing just 19 total points in wins over Auburn and Mississippi State.

Manny Navarro of The Athletic thinks the Gators will give the Aggies a challenge on Saturday night. He put Texas A&M on upset alert after seeing Florida’s defense keep Manning and Texas in check.
“The SEC’s best team to this point has been Texas A&M, and there’s really no reason to pick the Aggies to lose other than the fact that this would create more chaos in the SEC race,” Navarro wrote. “That plus Gators freshman receiver Dallas Wilson looked scary good in his debut last week.
“Florida’s defense is also pretty good. While Marcel Reed has done nothing to disappoint in 2025, I’m banking on a pair of Florida interceptions to lead to the upset and more talk about Billy Napier keeping his job.”
Reed is going to need to have a solid game for Texas A&M to remain unbeaten. The sophomore has thrown for 1,256 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions this season. He’s added another 149 yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries.
Per ESPN BET, Texas A&M is a 7.5-point favorite to beat the Gators. The Aggies lead the all-time series 4-3. Texas A&M won last year’s matchup 33-20 in Gainesville, Florida.
