Packers Parsons on the hunt against Bengals

  • October 10, 2025

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Packers’ defense had plenty of time to stew after allowing 40 points against the Cowboys.

Now they’re ready to get the bad taste from the tie out of their mouth.

“Sitting around pissed off. We just gave up 40 points. We talking about how we can’t give up 20 and we’re going to win all these games. That’s how you lose games. If we really say who we want to be, we should take that last game, how we finished last and we should punish these guys,” said Micah Parsons.

Jeff Hafley’s unit looked like world beaters in the first two games of the season. They remain fourth in yards allowed per game, but outside the top ten in points at 21 per contest.

“Be phenomenal or be forgotten. No one thinks about good defense. No one talks about good defenses. There’s a lot of good defenses, 11, 12 weeks out of the year, but those other weeks what did they look like?” said Parsons.

“It is not much that is the discrepancy between looking like the best defense in the league to letting up 40 points on Sunday Night Football. I feel like we’ve, yeah, really gotten back to what makes us us. That’s just our playstyle, relentless pursuit,” said safety Evan Williams.

Relentless pressure best describes Parsons. Who leads the Packers pass rush with 26 quarterback pressures through the first four games. That’s good enough for 4th in the league heading out of the bye as well.

“It doesn’t matter how play one looks like, or play ten. It’s the constant hunt. That’s about, like, I know I’m going to get more than one chance. I may get blocked, like, a lot of times. I may get stuffed. Guys are going to beat me, but can he beat me every time,” said Parsons.

One thing is for sure, Parsons likes the hunt.

The always colorful pass rusher described new Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco as a giraffe. Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase as a gazelle (or hippo) when meeting with the media on Thursday.

One thing is for sure, Parsons and the Packers are primed for a sack safari this weekend. The Bengals have the lowest pass blocking win rate according to ESPN. A unit that’s allowed 15 sacks thus far in 2025.

Parsons is certainly ready to hunt come Sunday.

“That’s what makes it exciting, the hunt. The respect, knowing that I’m coming every time. You may take a play off. I’m not going to take a play off. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how tired we are, right? It’s all about the chase. Can you get the gazelle?” said Parsons.
